The main reason for having a newborn session in your home is to help support mom as much as we can. With everything that we as mothers go through in those first few weeks is an emotional blur and it is my job as the photographer to make this experience as enjoyable and stress less as possible.

 

By being in your own home you will be instantly make you feel relaxed and baby will definitely feel that connection, it also takes away that pressure of arriving at a new location you have never been before with a brand new baby and everything packed but the kitchen sink. One thing I also love about home sessions is it’s completely baby-led. They might need feeding, changing, burping or even just a cuddle and that’s okay. The success of the shoot is not just about the photos you take but the happiness of the baby.

My final reason for choosing an in home session would be for the siblings. Let’s face sometimes sibling photos can be tricky as we only have their attention for a small amount of time, however when they are in their own home it again gives us the opportunity to work around them and if they want to go off and play in their own space where they are comfortable and happy with can. No stressed out children equals no stressed out parents.
